Having had experience working within a high intensity sex offender program I cannot stress to you how very important CBT is to the reintegration process. However, you have a rather tall order here. What type of program are these individuals in prior to release? Most programs (effective ones) have relapse prevention as a part of the program. You must decide on a specific model or program to investigate, and then research how CBT helps them. It also depends on the offence, age, etc., etc. Are we talking about exhibitionism or rape? Two very different sex offences, two very different treatments. Investigate the relapse prevention aspect, and I am sure you will find information that will help you. Also, journal article searches by author William Marshall may prove fruitful. He is a founding father of sex offender research and runs a program out of Kingston, Ontario Canada. Although his research is primarily with adults, there may be a way to contact him through Queen's University. I understand he still lectures there. He may be able to point you toward some research. Don't be afraid to contact the authors of articles. They or their assistants often offer their assistance in finding resources.
