A good source for current research and theory on optimism
Jim Pretzer · 10/15/00 at 9:05 PM ET

Edward Chang has edited a new book, Optimism & Pessimism: Implications for Theory, Research, and Practice (2001, published by the American Psychological Association) which provides thorough coverage of current research on optimism and pessimism (O/P). Among the many topics which the volume covers are: O/P and self-regulation, O/P and explanatory style, O/P and hope, the health effects of O/P, the impact of O/P on psychological well-being, cultural influences on O/P, and methods for increasing optimism.

I may be biased since I wrote one of the chapters, but the book looks quite good.
