Todd, your response was excellent. However, I'd like to add, or restate something. In so doing, I am running the risk of imposing what will seem like a dogma or an ideology. I hope that it is not. You have to trust me, have "faith" in what I am saying, unless you have experienced it yourself. I experience religion and spirituality as something very different. There is a universality about spirituality. It is found in all religions, separate from the dogma and ideology, but it must be experienced. I'm saying this with some authority. I've practiced meditation for many years outside of any religion. I have never used Vipassana, more commonly known as mindfulness. I assure you, that once "spirit" is summoned that it presents itself. But, I cannot be forced on anyone. It must be invited in. It has nothing to do with 12 steps, or any ideology. It's indeed a different mind. This is why I suggested to the person who posted that through her acts, once she honestly is in touch with her own spirituality, that she can bring the love of spirit to people. However, she can't teach or impose. That's not how it works.
