Re: a Humanist's Empathic Explanation of Vicious Motives

Thanks John for sharing this important letter. My comments on Nathanson's site were a personal expression of what I felt when confronted first-hand with the "passivity, dissociation, collective trance and anxiolytic behavior" while on vacation in southern California. This letter says much more eloquently than I could have thought possible what I was feeling. And I could not agree more with the comments on the despair and impotence in the face of the enormity of scale and difficulties encountered in mobilising effective international action. Please keep us informed on what response David Wasdell receives to the letter if you can. There are some who share his concerns and are trying to keep our eyes open and our minds clear.
