Have you read Judith Herman's book about trauma - the exact name escapes me. She discusses the misdiagnosis of clients and how BPD can really be seen as a response to trauma and ought to be labelled as PTSD. This is a very simple summary. I would suggest getting your hands on her book. I have been diagnosed with PTSD, experience both anxiety and depression. I could, if the right(wrong?) person were to diagnose me be labelled BPD. As much as people say the label isn't the person I still feel that labels can do a lot of damage. I personally do not like them, unfortunately the industry is driven by them!How can anyone write a book or an article if they don't have a name for what they write about. Then, the insurance industry.....
