The professionals on this sight will most undoubtedly disagree with what I am about to state. In many ways psychiatry is a hell of a lot worse in the diagnosis department than automobile repair. A car is a much more simple ‘machine’ and it is easier to diagnosis than the human mind. I remember seeing a program where they used a hidden camera and went to four different automotive repair places complaining about a non-existent “pinging” problem in their engine. I remember them getting four different diagnosis’ of the problem with four different extremely expensive estimates on how much it would cost to fix the non-existent problem. The mark of a successful psychiatric medical professional is in his ability to have lots of willing patients. If he can make absolutely certain that he takes a very long time to ‘cure’ them it is literal money in the bank for him. You are his ticket for his new cars and expensive houses. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS: If a person is hooked on heroin he can kick the habit, go through withdrawal experiences and be done with it. On the other hand, if a person is hooked on drugs that do the inner work for him and keep him “sane,” depending on those drugs will most undoubtedly make him insane if he stops taking them. You tell me which is the worse addiction? (((THERE IS NO PSYCHOLOGICAL SUBSTITUTE FOR A STRONG, POSITIVE MIND!!!!))) If you are truly convinced you have a problem then you do indeed have a problem and will continue to have a problem until you are truly convinced that you are cured. I have found these to be two of the greatest books on mastering the mind that I have ever encountered: The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr Joseph Murphy And My Voice Will Go With You (the teaching tales of Milton H. Erickson) edited and with commentary by Sidney Rosen The last that completes and rounds off what I call the “Big Three” is: Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain I feel that using these three books as tools from different angles people can create any good and wholesome life they may want for themselves from pure thought. Pure thought is what has gotten you into the life you are currently leading and pure thought is what can change that life in any manner you may choose. Good fortune to you!
