To be honest, it is unusual for learning disabilities or ADHD to develop so late in life. It is possible that you have had it all your life and are just now getting to the educational level where your ability is being really tested. Your symptoms could be explained by any number of underlying problems, however. You might also consider getting a copy of David Burns's books "Feeling Good" and or "Ten Days to Self-Esteem". If money is an issue, I would be tempted to seek out the counseling service at my school. Another alternative is to find a university near you (like SFSU, or Berkeley) that has a school psychology training program. They might take you on gratis if you are willing to be assessed and counseled by a graduate student, who is then supervised by a professor. Sometimes community colleges also have these kind of services.
