We have a couple of inpatients in our acute rehab facility who present with tremors/weakness/incoordination to the point where they cannot walk. All medical tests and workups have been negative. Numerous inconsistencies in their symptom presentation have been noted. They are both sensitive to the idea that staff think it's all in their head; a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches have been tried, but with limited success over the last week or so. Anyone w/ ideas/experience in this area? I really doubt we're looking at conversion disorder (i.e. totally unconscious psych. etiology).
