In your search for alternative approaches to art therapy, You might also be interested to know that there are several training programs that are not psychodynamically based, including Naropa Institute and I believe there is also a program in New Mexico that is Jungian based. Transpersonal theories are working their way into the field, as well as insight meditation, etc... so keep looking! Just a practical word: the licensure and certification exams still rely heavily on traditional therapy approaches, but even they are focusing less on psychodynamic theory and more on short term, solution oriented approaches.
