Credibility as an art therapist Although art therapy has been around for over 80m years in US it is still a pioneering field. Part of the Job of an art therapists is to create your own niche and show other’s the effectiveness of their work. This can and does happen. I have created my own program out of school and have run it for the last 3 years . It is certainly not well paid and it should be so if you join then profession do so with the intention of promoting both art therapy practice and the pay and conditions which are currently not comparable to colleagues in the similar professions. A qualification like LCPC allows you to work independently in certain states and charge for your services. Best wishes Hoda
