hi everyone,
I'm Shira and a junior at the George Washington University and Deaf myself. I am seriously thinking of going into the field of creative arts therapy and am so interested in learning more about the field in general and in regards to Deaf people working there or how available it is to the Deaf community. I'd like to know more about this not only because I'm looking into graduate schools with creative arts therapy programs, but also because I am applying for a scholarship that requires a proposal for change. I would like to propose that the Deaf community have greater access to the (Creative) Arts Therapy field both as clients/patients and as pratictioners and will need some statistics and such to support my proposal that this is necessary. Any information about this would be greatly appreciated. Even if you do not have information, please do share that with me because that will be a testimony to the importance of this proposal. I've also greatly enjoyed reading what you all have contributed to this discussion forum. Thank you very much.
-Shira
