C.A.T. in NYC

Hi,
I want to become an creative art therpist. I live in Manhattan - NYC. I am looking at Pratt & SVA but I can not afford them. I am looking at The New School For Social Research. They have a cetificate program in C.A.T. Is anyone out there familiar with the program at The New School and how a certifiate is viewed from there? This is something I want to do and I want to do it right but a MA costs about 40-50 grand at Pratt & SVA - and NYU is even more money. Any suggestions? Thank you.
