I am a Master's student conducting my thesis research on the (current) practice of art therapy in clients' homes, and the effect of the home environment on the therapeutic frame. In order that this study be as comprehensive as possible, I would like to contact art therapists from a variety of regions in Canada and the USA.
The study is being conducted through a (written) survey of art therapists who have conducted sessions in client's homes within the last three years. I will be reporting on general trends and themes summarized from the answers to the surveys. Confidentiality of all participants is assured.
This topic is only beginning to receive attention in art therapy literature, and it is my hope that this study will provide an informative overview of how therapists who are forerunners in conducting in-home art therapy have adapted to working in this milieu, and what they see as the benfits and drawbacks of in-home sessions compared to therapy in a clinical or community environment.
If you have experience in working with clients in their homes, or know of someone else who might be eligile, you can contact me via email at: c026@sympatico.ca
or by leaving a message at (514) 343-3505.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
