Getting Started in Art Therapy

I am currently a student at NCSU majoring in Psychology. I am planning to attend ECU in the fall to earn my MSW. I am very interested in art therapies but I am not exactly sure where or how to get started. I would like to work with women and children. Any ideas on how to break in to this field (i.e. workshops, classes, good reference books, particular people I should speak with). Any help would be appreciated.
