Cyrea - sorry, I'm not an art therapist, and am unlikely to become one anytime in the next few years.. but I really wanted to respond to your post, just to say that I think your concerns are really valid. I think that the therapy context is one that carries a lot of power, and to be told to just work on your issues seems kind of, well, patronising. I think that concerns that relate to the ethics of therapy deserve our full consideration, and that a simple faith that these things will work themselves out is not really being respectful of the people who consult therapists. so, it's not really what you asked for, but I just wanted to say that I'm glad there are folks around asking these kinds of questions.
