Open Studios for staff and students at a college

I am interested in creating an open art studio at the college where I work.  It could be used for credit and non-credit courses, workshops, support groups, meetings, and probably other activities.  It would also house two small rooms, one for counseling and the other for quiet reflection/meditation.  Is anyone out there doing something similar anywhere, and specifically at colleges or schools?  How does you studio operate?  How is it used and staffed?  How is it paid for?  What else can you tell me?  Any responses will be appreciated.  Thank you!
