impact of licensure

The impact of licensure has has a profound impact in the availibility of Art Therapy positions in south Florida. I have worked in psychiatirc hospitals for the past 6 years but with the advent of HMOs and census driven tactics to stay afloat; Art Therapy has become a cost cutting frill. I have recently been laid off from such a hospital and discovered that no one else will utilize me without licensure. I have greatly enjoyed working as an Art Therapist but now feel it is necessary to make a career change.
