I suggest you explore the research references at Petrea Hansen's "Art therapy in Canada homepage" for some references by topic. PsychInfo database lists many of the art therapy professional journals. The two most widely available are "Art Therapy" and "The Arts in Psychotherapy". Perhaps you can obtain a book list as well from one of the university programs in art therapy linked to this site.
I do not mean to be unfriendly with the following comment, only to convey the seriousness of the field and the respect it deserves: If you are not yet aware of any research in art therapy, you have a lot of reading and research to do before you can speak/write credibly on the subject.
Good luck,
Sophia Kelly
