Hi, my name is Javier Guillen. I am a recently graduated psychologist from the Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia.
I am interested in knowing more about the similarities/differences between Gestalt therapy and Gestalt-theoretical psychoterapy.... can anyone help me with this? I have been reading the article of Hans-Juergen Walter in the e-journal Gestalt! about cognitive behaviour therapy and Gestalt-theoretical psychotherapy; there it says "... Gestalt-theoretical psychoterapy (wich can include the use of Gestalt therapy exercises and procedures as well of those from psychodrama, client centered therapy and even behaviour therapy)..."... does that mean that Gestalt-theoretical psychotherapy is only concerned with the tools and technical aplications of Gestalt therapy exercises but from another point of view (another philosophical foundation and theory)?? and, if the answer for this question is no... are those therapies different from each other?
