Communism destroys human initiative and crushes the spirit. Having extensively read Marx, Engels and Hegel and a rather large number of their supporting staff I don't see a dimes worth of difference between communism and socialism. One is merely a deceptive varient of the other. I personally believe that Sartre's support of communism was more a response to repeated twentieth century German oppression, for it certainly was not consistent with his existentialist philosophy..........Ed
