In relation to Dr. Shapiro's posting on peak performance, also designated as performance enhancement, I have found through extensive clinical work with athletes, performing and creative artists as well as corporate executives, that earlier "small t" and at times "larger T" trauma underlies the performance block and inhibition. This is often accompanied by powerful negative schemata incorporating self-criticism and fear bases. This earlier trauma is clinically revealed in what I call "parallel protocols" (the present target leading to the underlying one) also known as floatback techniques. Once the earlier issues arerevealed and reprocessed, the present day and future template processing tends to be more effective and long-lasting.
