EMDR is a complex clinical treatment. It cannot be performed at home or alone. I also suggest you tell your friend that taking marijuana before an EMDR treatment is not advisable. The stable treatment effects gained with EMDR are achieved through a complete processing of the stored information. By adding in any drug there is a good chance that all the information is not being processed and may come back to haunt her later. She needs to discuss this with her clinician.
