There are a number of clinical aids used by therapists to induce the stimulation used in EMDR. However, the stimulation is not the entire therapy. A clinician is needed for EMDR therapy. The cd's and tapes, etc. should not be used by laypeople as distressing material can be stimulated without the guidance needed to process.
