It is important to have an open mind regarding her possible responses. Each session and treatment is unique so she may have greater access to the sadness, or she may process it during the session. I would suggest that you make it clear to her that you want to help her in any way you can. If it helps her to talk about it--you want to listen. If it helps her to stay quiet--you support that also. Just give her the option to take from you whatever she needs. And make sure you get the support you need during this time as well.
