I'm not aware of any experimental drug for PTSD--so I can't comment about that.

As for Florence Nightengale--war has always taken its toll. And as you note, chronic pain is often an accompaniment. Hopefully people can now recognize their symptoms as something that can be healed. Many, too many, have already died in pain and suffering.
