EMDR for children with ADHD and LD
Laura Solomon · 1/29/99 at 11:46 PM ET

I have begun to refer children with diagnosed ADHD and LD to EMDR trained therapists in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Although it is too early to report even anecdotal results on more than one child, direct observation of her (age 9), along with parent reports, show significant, meaningful, and observable changes in organization, language usage and understanding, focusing and attention, initiation, and task completion. In addition, her self-esteem and self-concept were just put to an enormous test and she came through like a shining star! I would be interested in other observations from parents and professionals, alike.

Thank you, Laura Solomon, Ed.D., Special Education Consultant, Silver Spring, MD
