EMDR's best and most straightforward use is for adult PTSD cases like this (I don't know enough about your childhood and other history to comment specifically on your case, but let me say something else in general). Whenever there are complications like head injuries, it may require addition session(s) to address those issues as well. The more complicated the tapestry, the more complicated the processing. EMDR is like going through a tunnel. You might be afraid of the dark, but once you get to the other side it is all behind you. If you stop in the middle of the tunnel because you are scared, you'll be in the dark for a much longer time than if you just keep going. Good luck to you!
