Just to offer a perspective from a reader's viewpoint, I have to say I appreciate hearing both sides of the issue. Even though I'm "only" a grad student, I think I am enough of a critical thinker to be able to decide for myself whose viewpoint I consider to be more valid. I vote that while you have a right to expect professional discourse, you should allow such commentary and challenges. I don't see it as taking anything away from your position. My viewpoint is not going to be disuaded by a little dissent. I would much prefer this kind of dialogue, be it a little heated, to those lazy idiots who so frequently post a request for resources( usually the night before their paper is due) when it is obvious they have yet to even visit a library, or even use a dictionary. Now those should be deleted.
