downfalls of EMDR?

ok, my diagnosis is major depression disorder, reoccurring w/psychosis and depersonalization disorder, I've done the meds route,on my 9th antidep, been in the hospital, done ECT...I have done the work several years ago recovering memories of incest..my therapist just suggested EMDR...i've done the research on it...all i can find is how great it is, there most be some pitfalls i need to be aware ...I want to know what I'm getting into
