    Thank you for that clarification of your original comments. I would agree with almost all of your points. However, we do disagree as to whether it is appropriate to recommend a specific treatment in complicated cases such as this without understanding the person's relevant background and history.
    I would argue for the use of a little more restraint in recommending EMDR in such cases. I think this is prudent because not all problems can be treated successfully with EMDR and there is no way to know what type of problem this person is experiencing.

    I also want to clarify the issue of non-professional postings to this list. I certainly do not want to restrict anyone's freedom to post or discourage non-professionals' interest in this list. However, I feel that specific treatment recommendations should not be encouraged and those seeking such information should be referred elsewhere to those able to answer their questions in a more appropriate setting.
