    I agree that there are individual differences in cognitive style. I consider myself a better writer than orator. Although I think I'm pretty capable of holding reasonable verbal conversation, I think I'm better in the writing department. For one thing, if I f2f with a group, I feel more stage fright than when writing to a cyberspace community (if I've lurked long enough and feel confident about my opinion and/or knowledge).

    Written text's benefit is reviewability before its expulsion. Oration takes more forethought. Of course, one of my lamentations about sending off email is that I always seem to find my errors AFTER I click the send button, even if I think I've reviewed it well enough. BTW, John, thanks for the form/format which gives me a chance to preview before sending. I'm making better use of it now. :-)
