the &lllaos lesson

I guess one lesson to be learned from &lllaos is that the meanings we try to convery in cyberspace are being filtered through millions of miles of wires and circuits, and billions of bytes of program code. Sometimes the filtering is planned and intentional, and sometimes it's a glitch. The crucial word in the term "computer mediated communication" is MEDIATED.
