Yes John, I could not agree with you more, and endlessy try to explain to my online friends that without the perceptual cues of our daily senses, our habitual judgements which we "think" will have no effect upon us, will lead one down a primrose path to disillusionment. This is the 'two-way' sword you speak of, I suspect. Online is like looking through a peep-hole at a construction site, the view is in no way false, it is merely partial. The problem comes about when one beleives that this partial view is a comprehensive one, thus, conferring upon the percieved attributes that they may not actually posses given the myraid of stimuli we must deal with in our realities. Nonetheless, rather then continually perpetuating our fascination with the external world of our ego-machinations, the anonymity still (imho) can serve as a gateway to our own souls. (i could be wrong!)
