re: collaborative learning

It sounds like it was an interesting experience, Nancy, even though not totally fulfilling. I'd like to hear more about how it was "superficial in course content as well as communication." That would help in understanding how the experience might have been improved. I think having a variety of internet communication channels helps make such learning experiences more robust (newsgroup-style forums, email lists, real-time chat, video-conferencing). And I think that the ideal situation is to have the people involved, at some point, MEET each other in person.
