I agree..it is the people that make the statements, and conduct "actions" in cyberspace....the technology doesn't do it. But, how much of the medium is the message? People create the message not the medium, but the medium is somewhat limited being mainly text based for most people. Those that can afford it have faster computers capable of the newest visual technologies and web cams (although web cams are quite inexpensive).. With regards to collective conscience...I think it is possible to see that link internet= collective conscience...but I do think the technology limits our ability to truly express that conscience....There is currently too much opportunity for mis communication to occur. I have seen this happen alot online..due to lack of visual cues etc.
