Hello:
>> PS...That's an interesting topic in itself - how we react to our computers being "sick" and not being able to go online. :-(
Yes, an interesting... when my account was closed first time, I understood what does a "withdrawal" ('lomka' in russian language) means!
When I can't reach the internet more than two or three days, I feel myself very sad; I can't think about anything without returning to the Internet topic; I imagine browsing, chatting or reading newsgroups, and such days I very often see the Internet in nightdreams.
But now with this crisis in Russia, I can't access the Internet at daytime. yes, I can call and go onlune, but I haven't money to pay. Only at nights... And I feel something even more terrible these days than when I'm far away from any computer ot Internet access. I know that I CAN go online and I know that I shouldn't do it... or I wouldn't have money to buy even food... So, it is a torture, really. FIDONet is only one consolation for me then. FIDONet is free, and I read lots of conferences and post there, and it works for me. But anyway I feel "urges" to visit the Internet... check mail... look at some pages... even for some minutes... 20 minutes later I should disconnest... after 10.00 AM the price is very cheap... but I don't want to leave... :(
My friend said me the word "anankastic personality" after I told him... so I searched for this word and found this forum. But I still haven't got good definition of the word "anankastic" (I very hope you John Suler could clear this for me: ;) and I still try to understand WHY I so need the Internet every day... more and more, if I can't access it freely.
You can look at one picture about Internet I made - with famous quote from geek-gode on it... my image of Cyberspace... - please click here
