PSYCHOLOGY OF CYBERSPACE

    Personality Styles/Communication Styles

I'm not sure what 'thread' to put this in (!),,,,,, I think we need to have some tolerance for the idea that people bring a wide variety of 'personality adjustments' to cyberspace, and psychology's attempts to categorize and generalize have never been too successful, and it won't be helpful here either!! Trying to make sweeping generalizations or conclusions about people's responses and behaviors to the online experience, I don't think will be fruitful. At the extremes, it's easier to state that if this activity becomes all consuming and a replacement for outside relationships, that's not good! If it creates a closer community of people around the world, and helps to eliminate boundaries between people, that's a terrific result. Professionally- in all fields of endeavor- if it literally creates a wider web of ideas and sharing and invention, that's a great result.
