    By "gender-masking" I guess T.L. means using an ambiguous online name so people are not sure of one's gender. I know that assuming a female name often means you will be approached, and often harrassed, more often - so it makes sense that women would choose to hide their gender more often. It's interesting that it seems to be MEN who are more likely to gender-switch. Maybe they feel they are "under-harrassed." ; )
