The challenge of what I'm suggesting is to focus the discussion on a particular area of interest. If there is a good book or article, let's all read it and discuss that. Tatiana wants to talk about cyber addiction then let's stay with that idea. This meandering in and out of one topic after another certainly gives ample opportunity for everyone to express their opinion, but I thought the original idea of all the BOL forums had a more 'professional' or scholarly intent.
But you know what- I've shared all this a number of times and in different places, and the conclusion I've come to, is that the current format is the easiest to do and takes the least discipline or effort. If that's the standard- fine. I suspect I would probably be told something like, "well, you know this isn't school".
And as far as suggesting a topic, why not first get reactions to what I've just said. What's the sense of pursuing this if everyone elsewants to 'chat'.
