I didn't interpret Loren's comment as being global.
Of course people desire "personal" contact and a sense of "human"-ness. But there are numerous variables (sometimes "tests") involved to preclude being placed (or placing others) in one of those boxes Loren mentioned. And don't the criteria for judging and accepting others differ in the online world from the "real" world?
