Actions speak louder than words - Why do women fall for them still?

As we know, women tend to love listening to all the sweet promises made by men, and tend not to notice that the men never actually mean what they say. The problem is, why do women still fall for them? Why do men like to do this?

I hope to hear all your views and preferably share some experiences and get some psychological explaination to this problem.
