As I said in the previous post, it is a matter of what one does with their perceived position. It is also a matter of what you use as a measure of self-esteem. One could use self-confidence, self-estimation, ability to work independently, and creativity as a main indicators and catch a bunch of antisocial personalities. This would be a mistake. Although they may indicate these qualities on self report and they may appear have very high self-esteem, they have no social interest. Their exaggerated since of self importance is in reality a cover for their own inferiority complex. Self-esteem can be a very complicated issue. Most research I have read on birth order as a predictor of behavior have indicated that it is a very poor predictor. I believe it is because of the creative power of the individual to take their circumstance and make of it what they wish. In my understanding, birth order is only a potentiality and what one does with it is as infinite as the possible choices one sees. Individual Psychology. Craig
