I'm trying to find information on how to use the Adlerian approach in working with people with mental illness. So far, I have found one resource that alludes to the idea of not focusing on the particular illness or on the symptoms, but to focus on "the unique individual who may be using those symptons in the service of a fictional final goal." Do you agree with this and do you have other hints at helping people with mental illness to understand their basic mistakes? Thanks.
