i'm not saying it is useless to try but our atempts are seemingly useless because emotions, images, and the same (non-verbal thoughts) are difficult (if not impossible) to put into language. I believe language is the key to understanding this world in a sharable (social) way. To freud it seems anything that can not be put into language is unconsious and can only became consious in slips. I believe they are all consious, yet we have difficulty explaining them because it's physical and also with emotions we have to say "it's the feeling you get when you hit punched" (or whatever). Thing is, we can have completely different feeling when we get punched. Some one might be surprised, one might be angry, and an other might actually enjoy it. How does one truely discribe emotions. What effects do images in our head have on bodies. Every thing that happens in our body effects everything else. Breathing effects how your heart beats, your brain effects very thing. Our bodies are holistic, everything effects everything else. So what we think about effects our body. So images and other non-verbal do the same as verbal thought. Seeing someone killed set off emotions (emotions being in this case changes in the body) just as the word nigger effects some people. So i believe that instead of calling it the unconsious we should call it non-verbal.
