    Re: Abraham Maslow on Creativity

I have thought often that Maslow's hierarchy of needs is very compatible with Adlerian theory. With regards to creativity, from Maslow's perspective it would be a constant goal for a person to strive for the expression of his or her true self via creative processes. To do so would be a grand fullfillment. Likewise, I would imagine Adler would see creative output as a free expression of the life style. The positive to creative output would be, in my opinion, the awareness a person has of his or her creative processes and how comfortable the perssn is with representations of the self made via those creative processes.
