If the therapist is not willing to model flexibility and change for the client by using a different "approach", how can he expect the client to do what he is not able to practice himself? Most clients although distressed, are sensitive observers.
If an artist is not able to risk with different colors and forms, his creativity suffers and so does the product of his imagination.
