Hi Gloria, I'm a Psychology major, and I was reading some of the messages, and I read yours. In taking Counceling and Psychotherapy I came to an understanding that therapist don't necessarily switch from one approach to another. However, they may take an eclectic approach. Taking techniques from different approaches that would best help resolve a patients/clients troubles and combining them. I also understood that if a therapist was unable to help resolve a patients/clients troubles that it was unethical to continue 'switching' methods per se , but was advisable to consult with another therapist or even terminate counceling and redeirect the patient/client to another therapist. Maybe Dr. Stein can comment on this, I would be interested in reading his response. Hope your paper goes well !
