First, I am so happy to finally be a part of this. Took me a long time to get on here.
Just wanted to emphasize the concept of useful which Adler also emphasized. It is basic
to the "belonging" concept and can be applied to the "dark side" discussion. Often what
is seen as "dark" becomes "un-dark" if it is turned towards useful ends (Pew). It is
somewhat anlagous to Jung's concept of acceptance (?). For instance a personality that
strives for control can be healthy if the control is for the service of all. Compare
personality of the CEO with the common criminal. Often the difference is only the
degree of social interest.
