The goals of (mis) behavior indicate a striving to attain desired feelings and avoid undesired feelings. These have been seen slightly differently by various authors. In general they are power, attention, revenge, feigned inability. In this child's case the behaviors may be directed towards power.
Most the material on these goals are focused on the child's interaction with an adult. They are then framed from that point of view. But, these gaols can be direced at other children just as easily.
