I've been studying Adler for a while - seems as though his theory is never ending as it is quite difficult to take in every avenue that he has had an impact on. I am currently trying to determine a few things for the purpose of a presentation that I must give on Adler and was wondering if I might find a couple of answers here, or possibly might find a suggestion as to where I can find the answers to my questions. Of course, the two questions that I have, are more so opinion based questions, so I welcome any response. 2) If a person had to list the major contributions that Adler has had on the field of psychology what might they list? For it seems that he has had an impact on so MANY areas.
1) Throughout many biographies and works on Adler, it is noted that his family and bouts with sickness were the major contributing factors to why he chose to follow the avenue that he did in becoming a physician and then pursuing his theory of Individual Psychology. Freud seemed to have an impact on his theory, but did any other people contribute to his theory, or any situation (Ex. the war in which he fought, or other occurrences in Vienna)???
Any thoughts?
